The Fund invests in all product types including mixed-use,
apartments, condos, office, retail, entertainment and parking in
underserved districts of high population density. These urban
districts include the downtown areas within large “traditional”
cities, smaller “main street” districts within town or suburban
cities and other locations which lie within the metropolitan
areas of the country.
CIM believes there are many attractive investment
opportunities as a result of the urbanization movement underway
in many metropolitan markets, and that this urbanizing trend is
propelled and sustained by changing demographics, shifting
tastes and preferences and the rising cost of sprawl in these
metropolitan areas. In addition, downtown and main street
revitalization efforts are being assisted in many cities by
increasing public support and incentives. The Fund targets
investments in markets that exhibit:
• Improving demographics and macro-economic trends
• Underserved real estate niches
• Strong public support
• Significant private sector investment
