Strategy

CIM’s investment strategy is process-oriented in its origination and diligence capabilities. CIM relies upon its 17-year history of investing in communities across North America, which has enabled it to develop an unparalleled understanding of the unique nature of urban investing as well as how best to leverage its extensive real estate operational expertise.

CIM views the world holistically and contextually. All three of CIM’s investment platforms are founded on the belief that the appropriate consideration of the needs and opportunities within a community will lead to the smartest and thus the most successful investments.

Before making an investment in a particular asset or community, CIM undertakes a rigorous quantitative and qualitative diligence process. The combination of quantitative expertise—underwriting, capital markets, and historical analysis—with a qualitative understanding of the needs and potential of a given community has enabled each of the three investment platforms to deliver strong results when compared to peer and asset-class benchmarks through all phases of several market cycles.

In addition, CIM also works with partners to ensure the highest level of performance across all aspects of any given project—from the drawing board to ongoing operations—to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
