For the Staff Accountant position we looking for general corporate accounting functions experience. This person will be handling accounting for hotel assets within in our corporate team.
Essential Functions
  • Assist with P&L review of hotel’s financial statements to ensure adequate and accurate information is reflected on the financial statements.
  • Evaluate monthly financial operating results in relation to historical results, budget and forecasts.  Prepare monthly hotel reports that includes the monthly financial results, compared to forecast/ proforma/ STR comp set.  Adding monthly commentaries for forecast, sales initiatives, capex projects and hotel matters.
  • Provide support in preparing the loan waterfall schedules.
  • SOX review - Review hotel’s income statements, balance sheet and cashflow with explanation of variance to budget. 
  • Tie-out hotel monthly financial statements that are uploaded into the Corporate Accounting system.
  • Review hotel’s submission of monthly reporting package that they are following the Hotel Management Agreements and review balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements presentation. As well as maintaining the storing of monthly reports in SharePoint.
  • Provide support with requests from internal departments such as Hotel Division, Investment, Fund Accounting, Internal Audit, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of the hotel’s annual budgets.
  • Work with financial reporting team and external auditors to assist with quarterly and/or annual reports.
  • Assist with Lender reporting requirements for hotels.
  • Track and review hotel renovation projects and regular capex requests.
  • Assist with the set-up of Hotel Accounting/Business Intelligence system.  Mapping of trial balance to master chart of accounts and creating financial reports.
  • Prepare various internal and external wires associated with capital projects, operational funding, etc.
  • Assist with due diligence process of acquisition and disposition of hotels.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, staff and vendors
  • Strong written and verbal skills 
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • The candidate should have 2+ years of experience
