Under general supervision of the Account Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee assigned accounts payable staff and their duties.  This positions primary function is to ensures that the company maintains strong vendor relations, expenses are controlled, and provides financial, administrative, and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices and expenses according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist and participate in the management and processing of corporate payables
  • Trains, assigns, and reviews work of select account’s payable analysts and/or associates
  • Assists Manager in selecting and hiring employees for the groups mentioned above.  Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product.  Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.  Motivates and rewards employees including participating in providing annual reviews and compensation adjustments
  • Manage customer/vendor relations by responding to email/voicemail and or phone call inquiries regarding invoice status while researching and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues in a timely manner
  • Assist in the management of daily payment runs
  • Assist in the management of the Accounts Payable ledger to ensure payables are not exceeding vendor payment terms
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines
  • Provides accounts payable assistance to property managers, property accountants, and operations staff; responds to accounts payable questions/concerns to meet business needs
  • Assists with other projects as needed
  • Assist with the oversight of the company’s T&E expense system
  • Complete the annual 1099 / 1096 reporting requirements
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree with courses in accounting, business, or equivalent experience required
  • 5 years of experience required.  Additional education may be substituted for experience.  One or more years of leadership experience.
