The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overall monthly and quarterly corporate reporting and recording and reconciliation of payroll transactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Run payroll related reports and prepare accounting entries and reconciliations related to payroll cycleAssist with preparation of internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial reporting. Responsibilities include obtaining information from various data sources and combining for reporting.Prepare quarterly lender reporting package including covenant calculationsPrepare various census forms for filing by following specific instructionsReview reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports for internal and external purposesIdentify and implement improvement initiatives to improve and automate accounting and reporting processesAssist with other accounting and financial reporting related projects as neededProvide support to external auditors for year-end audits and tax preparationReview work performed by senior accountant
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Position may require after-hours commitment as need arises for time-sensitive requests and to meet deadlines
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or related fieldCPA certification preferred or working to achieve same3+ years overall experience; experience in private equity/real estate or public accounting preferredExtensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Proficient in Microsoft OfficeExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience in Yardi, MRI, J. D. Edwards or comparable softwareExperience with data warehouse and BI tools (e.g. Tableau/PowerBI) preferredFamiliarity with Nexus Payables or comparable software preferred
