The VP, Treasurer will oversee all aspects of the Cash Management function including oversight of international affiliates and operations. In that capacity, the VP, Treasurer will provide strategic guidance, appropriate governance, and resource allocation, to ensure the cash management team efficiently and effectively manages the Company’s cash and banking activities with the goal of meeting business needs on a timely basis, maintaining adequate controls over the company assets, minimizing cost, and optimizing interest.
 
In order to achieve these objectives, the VP, Treasurer will support best-in-class initiatives around fraud prevention, risk mitigation, efficient and effective transaction processing, governance, and technology. This position also supervises the management team for the Treasury and Corporate Accounts Payable function staff members in multiple locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OVERVIEW:
  • Consult with Division Heads, and banking and technology business partners to identify and implement cash management solutions that meet their business requirements and offer potential cost or efficiency improvements (funding needs, payment card options, letters of credit, collection accounts, etc.)
  • Ensure appropriate measures are in place to protect the value and reporting of the Company’s monetary assets, including policies and procedures (domestic and international), fraud protection mechanisms, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide daily oversight including:
  • Cash position reporting to Executive Management for planning and critical decision making.
  • Initiating and ensuring proper and timely payments via check, ACH and wire.
  • Initiate Line of Credit borrowings/repayments, contract rollovers and letters of credit
  • Monitor overall process for check exception items (positive pay).
  • Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly and annual bank compliance and financial reports.
  • Key liaison with Finance Department MD, Capital Markets and Legal for Corporate facilities and with multiple banks and bank representatives regarding programs, services and fees.
  • Establish processes and controls for Treasury function and ensure adherence to them.
  • Lead the implementation and subsequent strategy administration of a treasury workstation to build further efficiencies for accounting, treasury, reporting and payment processing
  • Create domestic and international processes and procedures including establishment of bank accounts and establish appropriate services with commercial banks and in CIM’s accounting system.
  • Establish framework for the download of the daily BAI file and create report to provide accounting with the daily account sweep transactions.
  • Provide guidance and direction to accounting with bank reconciliations, CIM/Yardi bank accounts, payables issues, and various bank account transactions.
  • Research and successfully implement new banking services to improve Treasury and company operations.
  • Oversee the Vendor Management System to reduce and eliminate fraudulent transactions.
  • NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Work remotely, nights and weekends as needed and with short notice (for time sensitive requests).
  • Working with technology, responsible for implementing new software, systems, applications & system deliverables related to the Treasury function.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee assignment of work to direct reports and strategy for organizational structure of the department.
  • Communication performance expectations and provide feedback informally and during the annual review process for members of the Cash Management Department.
  • Provide employee training, feedback, coaching and technical support.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Related Field.
  • 10+ years’ previous cash management experience.
  • Real estate/private equity experience preferred but not required.
  • MBA, CCM/CTP and/or CPA designation a plus.
  • TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Treasury Workstations and system implementations (i.e. Kyriba, G-Treasury, etc.)
  • Experience with banking software and online bank portal usage.
  • Experience in Yardi, MRI, J. D. Edwards or comparable software.
