The Director of Payroll Services will be responsible for oversite and execution of payroll functions for all CIM managed hotels ensuring all employees are compensated in a fair, accurate and timely manner in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

·       Provides corporate leadership to each hotel’s payroll departments, executes payroll functions as necessary
Duties / Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Payroll System implementation in both new and operating properties
  • Process payroll in multi-state, multi union & nonunion environment
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and timely at all properties
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures related to payroll
  • Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures
  • Able to maintain working knowledge of payroll taxes and compliance for the portfolio
  • Analytical review of payroll information including wages, taxes, and benefits and to have the ability to provide recommended changes to processes as necessary
  • Create and provide monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for each property as it relates to payroll performance
  • Ensure payroll systems are properly set up for each local as it relates to taxes, federal, state and  local government regulations, etc.
  • Overall responsible for annual 8027 Tip Reporting at each property
  • Assist in the reconciliation of any payroll related accounts monthly
  • Act as point of contact for general payroll questions when property payroll leaders are unavailable
  • Prepare and manager audits (Workers Comp, Payroll Compliance, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on any system related payroll functions including annual benefit enrollment processes.

  • Payroll Legislation
  • Ability to manage multi state and multi-property issues
  • Produce 5500 reports when applicable
  • Manage ACA forms and compliance
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Maintains payroll records according to requirements
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
  • Evaluates and identifies areas of development for payroll personnel for the properties in the portfolio
  • Due diligence for transitions and acquisitions
  • Act as payroll advisor for the hospitality group
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced degree advantageous
  • At least three years working in multi-unit / multi-state operation in a similar capacity
  • Proficient in excel and other accounting related software
  • Experience in ADP payroll is preferred but not necessary
  • Able to learn HIRS, T&A, payroll and labor management systems
  • Experience in implementing Payroll Systems in new properties beneficial
  • Experience in working in a Union Environment and the payroll processes involved
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with payroll software
  • Second language beneficial, Spanish advantageous
