Wicker Park

Wicker Park Mixed-Use Assets Chicago, IL

The Wicker Park neighborhood in Chicago is a hub of culture and entertainment. In 2012, Forbes ranked Wicker Park among the nation’s hippest neighborhoods. Today, the area is still known for its many chef-driven restaurants, live music, nightlife, countless art galleries and more.

Wicker Park

Before making an investment in Wicker Park, we approved the neighborhood through our community qualification process. Then, in 2017, we acquired two newly-constructed mixed-used buildings in the area. In total, the properties comprise 96 apartment units, 22,810 square feet of retail and 17,406 square feet of office space. The buildings are within walking distance of four established retail corridors and the Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line, which provides easy access via train to Downtown Chicago and the Fulton Market district.

Since acquiring the assets, CIM has made countless improvements, including renting more than 90 percent of the apartments, strengthening operations and leasing the office space. The two buildings and ongoing leasing activities support the continued growth of Wicker Park while adding to the local culture of the community.
