CIM Group’s City National 2CAL Office Tower Achieves UL Verified Healthy Building Mark for Indoor Air

LOS ANGELES--CIM Group announced today that the company has achieved the UL Verified Healthy Building Mark for Indoor Air for City National 2CAL in Downtown Los Angeles. The 52-story, 1.4 million-square-foot Class A office tower has demonstrated that it has excellent indoor air quality (IAQ) performance and has plans for the advancement of IAQ in the future.

To earn the UL Verified Healthy Building Mark, City National 2CAL participated in a thorough evaluation process, which included a desktop audit, on-site inspections and IAQ testing, which included, among other assessments, measurement of total volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, ozone, and a mold and moisture inspection. Reassessments will occur on a biannual basis to maintain Verification.

“Receiving the UL Verified Healthy Building for Indoor Air Mark for City National 2CAL is a significant achievement that underscores our commitment to providing healthy indoor environments that support the health and wellness of our tenants,” said Bethany Chang, Managing Director, On-Site Property Management.

Global safety science leader UL developed this program to provide credible, third-party verification that buildings demonstrate Indoor Environment Quality excellence.

“By City National 2CAL earning the UL Verified Healthy Building Mark, CIM Group has taken an important step in advancing indoor air quality. This is a critically important effort as stakeholders, from investors to tenants and regulatory bodies, prioritize sustainability and wellness in buildings,” said Sean McCrady, Director, Asset and Sustainability Performance, Real Estate and Properties at UL.
