West Hollywood, California

For more than a decade, two sides of the intersection of Sunset and La Cienega Boulevards were occupied by run-down and vacant buildings, creating a visible blight on West Hollywood and the famed Sunset Boulevard.

In 2011, the city sought to create a lively, pedestrian-friendly streetscape in this area, connecting high-end retail on the west side to hotels along Sunset Boulevard on the east side. Based on the success of our prior work in the community, CIM was chosen for the opportunity.

In alignment with the community’s needs, we built a 286-key hotel and a 190-unit multifamily residential tower from the ground up. We also created a public space with an art installation and sweeping views of Los Angeles as well as a safe pedestrian connection between the west and east sides of Sunset Boulevard. Our strategy for ground-up development is to bring projects to life that communities can be proud of, and we believe Sunset La Cienega is one such asset.
